You always see all pages on corporate websites that talk about company mission, vision, & philosophy. We figured that you don’t want to look at three separate pages, so we combined them all here. Let’s go!
Our Mission – in one concise, run-on sentence:
Our mission at RocklandWeb is to rapidly develop, integrate, and/or enhance a variety of beautiful, interactive, and easy-to use web-based technologies, provide comprehensive training services for our valued clients, and promote businesses and causes that matter.
Where did this mission come from? Let’s talk about our company’s vision.
In a nutshell, we really want to help people. Not just companies with big budgets (of course that never hurts), but also the startup entrepreneur with a dream. To us it is more realistic to build our core services based on these honest, hard-working folks who are risking it all to pursue a better life for themselves, their families and their colleagues. It is more real because we have been there, and we know the many travails of building a business from scratch. It is a difficult but worthwhile journey that gets a little easier if one has the right allies. We’ve found the right allies in Rockland County – those that want to make it a better place, and create a better future.
So, a lot of our services are built on the premise that a decent number of these entrepreneurs are not coming to us with a huge amount of capital to spend, and limited time to get up and running. From web design, to copy writing, to search engine optimization and marketing and social media, to premier web hosting, we price our services based on the time needed to get the job done, at a rate that is not prohibitive to most.
The way we’ve been able deliver on that purpose since 2007 is to have a talented team that knows how to rapidly create, test and deploy new technologies for out clients. We constantly train, update our practices, test and deploy. Think of us like the special forces of web development in the Hudson Valley.
As indicated above, we firmly believe in both simplicity and automation, wherever possible. This means that as a company grows and gains complexity, it becomes increasingly necessary to streamline operations so that it is understandable all the way from CEO to Colleague to Customer.
In 2019, we made a big decision. All of our projects are now broken into 5 and 10 hour time blocks, multiplied by the amount of complexity in the project. So a big project might take 15 ten-hour blocks. A small project might just take one or two 5-hour time blocks. This helps us to give you a great estimate before project inception. We also deliver on those blocks, by only billing for each block at the beginning of the time, and follow up to show the results at the end, so the client can decide on how s/he or they wish to proceed. It’s a great system!
Hopefully by now you get the idea – we’re here to help, but not to hijack your wallet and run for the hills. Besides, there’s no wifi up in the hills.
Did you get all that? And finally, let’s talk about our Philosophy:
We want our company to one day be the Hudson Valley’s market leader in web development for startup and small businesses. As the Internet and IT services industry is constantly evolving, we aspire to develop a practice of constant reinvention of our services, so that they never stagnate or become obsolete. We look to create a culture of mutual respect for both our customers and colleagues, so that ideas flow easily, and the work we produce is enjoyable.
We don’t deserve to earn a penny, unless we do continually do something useful for our clients.
Ultimately, we want to make web tools that are really cool, easy to use, and affordable to the public. And as those tools become cooler, then we want to show our valued customers how to use them, in order to design for themselves, a better future.
If you have read this entire page, thank you. And if you’re a startup business we would like to offer you a free gift – a book written by our founder in 2016, How to Program Your Life, available on Amazon at a retail of $9.99. We’d like to give you the digital copy for free. Simply fill out this form, and we’ll send you a copy. It’s a great way to learn the beginning, essential steps to starting a big business, organization, or cause. Thank God we’ve been doing it since 2007, and we’re just getting warmed up.
Also, consider making a donation to World Vision, a wonderful organization that provides aid to children and families in extreme poverty across the world. It’s our favorite charity.
